Preliminary numbers are in for Salt Lake home sales in the first quarter of 2010, and the trend continues. The number of homes sold rose 15% compared to the first quarter of 2009. The median sales price was down by 7.6%. Number of days on the market decreased to from 107 to 85 and the percentage of new listings sold increased by almost 10%. With first-time buyers fueling the market, the increase in sales should continue through the next quarter. After that, with interest rates on the rise, and the federal tax credit expiring, all bets are off. Over the next few days, I’ll post sales numbers by neighborhood.
